What this template does

One photo → the main person in a viral clip becomes you, while the choreography, camera moves, cuts and lighting stay the same.

What is the Genjutsu Video trend, and where did it start?

"Genjutsu" — the illusion technique from anime — became the nickname for a new kind of AI edit in late summer 2026: motion transfer that keeps every move, cut and camera push of a real clip and recasts the people in it. It exploded with recasts of a 30-second schoolyard finale from the music video STORM, released that April, and of the Hotel Lobby performance, swapping in friends, pets and grandmas. RemixMeme’s Genjutsu template does the single-lead version: your face, hair, skin tone and build replace the main person; everything else stays exactly as filmed.

Genjutsu Video timeline

• Frühling 2026The music video STORM is released; its one-take schoolyard finale later becomes the favourite clip to recast.
• Sommer 2026An AI motion-transfer tool that keeps a clip’s motion and camera while swapping the cast launches and gives the "genjutsu" edit its name.
• Herbst 2026The first AI recast of the STORM finale appears on YouTube.
• Herbst 2026Recasts spread on TikTok — the crowd and lead swapped for strangers, pets and grandmas — alongside Hotel Lobby edits.

Photo tips for Genjutsu Video

• A clear front or three-quarter photo; a waist-up or full-body shot helps match build.
• Avoid heavy filters; skin tone and hair colour come from your photo.
• Plain clothes transfer most cleanly into the clip’s lighting.
• Adults 18+ with photo rights only; no celebrities or strangers.

Troubleshooting Genjutsu Video

• The face drifts in fast moves → use a sharper, well-lit photo with eyes visible.
• Build looks off → use a fuller-body photo so the AI sees your proportions.
• Hair colour shifts under coloured light → that is the original lighting; try a photo in neutral light.
• A second person changes too → the template recasts the main person only; regenerate.
