How to Make the Head Bop Animation From One Photo

One photo does the head bop in front of a dark grey curtain: a deep lean back with the chin up, a snap forward to point at the lens, an open-palm shrug, then a hard nod on every kick of a slowed phonk beat.

A head bop animation is a short vertical edit where a head bops hard to a slowed phonk or Brazilian funk beat: lean back, snap forward, nod on every kick. Editors have hand-keyframed it on anime characters, footballers and cats for years under #headbopanimation; tutorials surged in August 2026, edit-app templates followed in late September, and some creators started doing the moves for real in front of a curtain. RemixMeme’s locked prompt recreates that curtain routine from your photo — no cut-outs and no keyframes.

Where the trend came from

• #headbopanimation clips appear, usually hand-made: a cut-out head keyframed to a phonk or funk beat.
• A popular tutorial on keyframing a head bop animation passes 145,000 views as the format heats up again.
• A clip of a "family" of fighter jets bopping in a row passes a million views and starts the current wave; head bop templates follow.
• The most-used head bop edit template shows close to a million uses, and cat and family lineups fill the feeds.

Before you start

You will need one photo. Photo tips that matter for this template:

• A photo from the knees or waist up, facing the camera — the routine needs arms and shoulders.
• Clear face, no sunglasses; the head carries the rhythm.
• Plain outfits read best against the dark curtain.
• Adults with photo rights; for a row of pets or family heads, try the Headbop AI Trend lineup template.

How to make it on RemixMeme

1. Open the Head Bop Animation template.
2. Upload one photo — JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 10 MB.
3. Confirm you have the rights to the photo and that everyone in it is 18+, then press Create.
4. Wait a few minutes for the ~15 s 9:16 MP4 and download it. Failed runs refund their credits.

What happens in the clip

| Time | Beat | |---|---| | 0–4 s | Lean back — A deep lean back, chin up, one palm held out, the head still nodding. | | 4–7 s | Snap & point — A snap forward to point straight at the camera, eyebrows raised. | | 7–10 s | Shrug — An open-palm shrug with both hands while the head bobs side to side. | | 10–15 s | Beat nods — A hard nod forward on every kick to the end, a little smirk, feet planted. |

If something looks off

• Nods drift off the beat → regenerate; every run is a new take.
• Hands look odd in the shrug → use a photo with both hands visible and relaxed.
• Feet move around → that is rare; run again, the prompt keeps them planted.
• Background is not the curtain → the prompt sets it; regenerate if it slips.

Posting tips

The clip comes with its own slowed phonk beat — heavy 808s and cowbell, no vocals. Pick the exact trending sound on TikTok or Reels when you post.

FAQ

What song is the head bop trend?

There is no single one — posts use slowed phonk and Brazilian funk tracks. Your clip has its own phonk beat; add the trending sound when you post.

How do you do the head bop?

Lean back on beat 1, snap forward and point on beat 2, shrug on beat 3, nod hard on beat 4 — or upload a photo here and the AI does it for you.

Is this the lineup with a row of heads?

No — this is the performed curtain routine. For a row of cut-out heads bopping in turn, see the Headbop AI Trend template.

Can I use a photo of a pet?

This prompt is written for a person standing in front of a curtain. Pet lineups work better in the Headbop AI Trend template.
